DAILY SCHEDULE:
Sunday - Load in -12:30pm-5pm
Monday - 9am-5pm
Tuesday - 9am-5pm
Wednesday - 9am-5pm
Thursday - 9am-5pm, dinner provided, 6:30pm Concert (Open to the public), Load out
This is a day camp, no housing is available. Each student is required to bring a sack lunch, and their own drum set on Sunday and we will load them out on Thursday.

About KHSDI:
Founded in 2007, The Keith Hall Summer Drum Intensive is a week-long drum camp held on the campus of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The focus here is jazz drumming for all ages and levels. (11-71+ years!) Since 2007, it has grown from 6 students at a 3 day workshop to beginning and advanced weeks including 24 drummers each.
During the week, students will learn new music during rehearsals and performances with various professional rhythm sections, a vocalist a horn player, and a drum choir. Students participate in a number of activities including:
The Final Concert will be held at the Max Colley II Performing Arts Center at Northview High School.
Drum Set Master Classes: Set up, tuning, ride cymbal focus, time, comping, brushes, soloing, independence, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban and much more…
Listening and Analysis: Study the styles of important jazz drummers.
Drum Set Choir: Perform as part of a drum set ensemble.
Jam Sessions: Jam with other students and staff.
Jazz Rhythm Section Concepts: Study classic rhythm sections, learn tunes and gain valuable experience working with a world-class rhythm sections.
Live and Virtual Master Classes: Have included Billy Hart, Will Kennedy, Tommy Igoe, Peter Erskine, Matt Wilson, Carl Allen, Chuck Silverman, Peter Retzlaff, Marcus Baylor, Carter McLean, Nick Ruffini, Adam Nussbaum, Donny McCaslin, Sammy K, Andrew Rathbun, Phil Maturano, Derico Watson, Kevin Jones, Jeff Moehle, Geoff Clapp, Tim Froncek and Quincy Davis.
Personal Health: Focus on personal development through confidence and healthy choices
The Staff includes talented drummers from around the U.S. who are Keith’s past and present WMU students
The Pro Rhythm Sections includes all-stars from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
